Abstract
This study analyzes the factors influencing the linkage between universities and enterprises in human resource training through a case study of the School of Economics, Can Tho University. Based on a combination of Social Capital Theory, Stakeholder Theory, and Knowledge Spillover Theory of Entrepreneurship, the study proposes a model including the following factors: trust, social responsibility, organizational culture similarity, benefits of linkage, enterprise size, and years of operation. Research data were collected from 152 enterprises in Can Tho City. The study employed Cronbach’s alpha, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), and discriminant analysis to examine differences in the influence of factors on linkage activities between enterprises with established linkages to the School of Economics and those without such linkages. The results show that the above factors differ significantly between the two groups, with trust, social responsibility, and the benefits of recruitment and training playing a more prominent role than enterprise characteristics. Based on this, the article proposes management implications to strengthen links between the School of Economics, Can Tho University, and enterprises in the city.
