Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between organic fertilizer application and household rice production results, such as rice yield, output, revenue, and assets in Vietnam's central coastal region. Data were gathered from the 2020 Vietnam Household Living Standards Survey (VHLSS). After combining VHLSS data, the study analyzed 336 rice-producing households to determine the association between organic fertilizer application and household rice production results. The study used the propensity score matching (PSM) method to reduce bias in control variable selection and endogeneity concerns. The findings show that families utilizing organic fertilizer have higher coefficients of output and revenue in the rice farming industry. The findings show the need to increase the use of organic fertilizers in rice agriculture, which could help support long-term livelihood transformation in Vietnam's central coastal region. To attain this goal, smallholder farmers must be encouraged to utilize organic fertilizers, and the government can help them by training and upgrading their organic fertilizer application skills.
